Sportsman of The Month.
The history of the mankind if full of great
sportsmen, and those men were unique and different from other sportsmen, one of
them is the formal middle distance runner, Steve Ovett; a great
runner who made his way with his own ability.
Let’s talk a little about Ovett achievements, he
was once known for getting the gold medalist in the 800 metres at the Olympic Games
in Moscow, in USA. Moreover, he had a world record for 1500 metres, and the UK
record for 2 miles in 1978.
When Ovett was at his peak, Sebastian Coe was also
more like a rival to him, although they didn't meet in an actual race, they
exchanged the world records for many times.
Before Ovett start being a runner, he was a
football player, and he was doing well in it, but to Ovett, he thinks that he
should rely on himself rather
than relying on his teammate.
Days past very fast, and Ovett retired from being
a runner, but he didn't leave the sport completely, he worked for CBC as track
& field television commentator.
Ovett now is living in Australia, he is 59 years
old, and his son is making his own way in sport, he won the pacific 800 metre
title.
